Capture Memories – Share Moments

Capture Memories – Share Moments

April has always been a fascinating month, it is the month that the world over celebrates Easter and Good Friday, the holy month. These two holidays mean different things to different people. I remember Easter while growing up, it was a time for family, catching up, and bonding. I remember every Easter finding us at my mother’s house along with my siblings and cousins. We could cook, share stories and laughter, and just have a good time until my sister passed away.  It has been years since I last celebrated this holiday because it now means something different to me.

Over the years, a lot of things have changed in the world as we knew them. Dynamics have shifted and goals have evolved. Not many people go upcountry for such holidays, now, people have decided to travel and explore the country. Mnasema hakuna pesa, have you seen the local daily? They said tourist destinations are 70% booked and more than 90% of the guests being locals, there are no flights and even the SGR is fully booked. With schools opening in a few weeks, this is a good time for parents to bond with their children. This brings me to my next point.

Travelling is no longer what it used to be, and with the dynamics of technology at play, people are now earning decent money by documenting and sharing their traveling experiences with the world. YouTube and TikTok remain the highest-paying social media platforms yet. These people have invested in really good phones with good cameras because the quality of the photos that you take determines everything.

Why do we take travel pictures, anyway?”

We asked.

“Why stick a camera between our eyes and what we’re seeing?”

pictures are visual nudges to our memories;

they are stories to share with others;

they are hoped-for communication;

they are attempts to get as close as possible to what it felt like to be there;

Pictures are visual nudges to our memories, stories to share with our socials, and keeping yourself the closest possible to that moment.

and they are ways to have some fun with all these feelings, expectations, and intentions. A good phone or camera is a great travel companion.

Whether you are earning from your travel wanderlust or not, we can agree that you need a good phone to take awesome photos and videos for future reference. It is called keeping the present for the future. A good phone is not necessarily expensive.

There are so many different brands of phones on the market today. From big brands like iPhone, and Samsung to small brands with really good cameras. There is always something for everyone, depending on your budget.

As you go out there this Easter, remember to share with the less fortunate, bless a needy family but most importantly, take good photos and videos because some of us are vicariously living through you. Round hii form ni kungoja fuel na kuomba.
